Kangana Ranaut Granted Bail By Andheri Magistrate Court In Javed Akhtar Defamation Case

As per reports, Kangana Ranaut had moved the court for cancellation of the bailable warrant issued against her in Javed Akhtar defamation case. She has now been granted bail by the Andheri Magistrate court

Kangana Ranaut Granted Bail By Andheri Magistrate Court In Javed Akhtar Defamation Case
In November 2020, veteran lyricist Javed Akhtar had filed a complaint against Kangana Ranaut for allegedly making defamatory statements against him in her interviews. As per the latest development in the case, the Andheri Magistrate court has granted bail to Kangana Ranaut in Javed Akhtar defamation matter. According to a report in ANI, she had approached the court for cancellation of the bailable warrant issued against her, and had applied for bail. Now, she has been granted bail by the Andheri magistrate court, reports ANI.

On March 1, a bailable warrant had reportedly been issued against the actress in Javed Akhtar defamation case, after she failed to appear before the court during the hearing despite being summoned. Kangana had then approached a sessions court challenging this bailable warrant issued against her. According to a report in Bar and Bench, Kangana has been granted bail upon furnishing a surety of Rs 15,000 and a cash surety of Rs 20,000.

Javed Akhtar had filed the complaint and he alleged that in her interviews after Sushant Singh Rajput’s death in June 2020, Kangana Ranaut brought up Javed Akhtar’s name while speaking about a ‘coterie’ in Bollywood.  The lyricist claimed that the baseless comments made by her had damaged his reputation.


According to a report in PTI, Javed Akhtar also mentioned in the complaint that Kangana falsely claimed he had threatened her to maintain silence and not speak about her alleged relationship with actor Hrithik Roshan.
